AUDIO

I’ve produced, hosted podcasts and been a guest on multiple programs. In Kansas City, I was guest host on The Bridge, Kansas City’s NPR Music station, to provide insight or analysis of special reports and a DJ contributor for Hispanic Heritage months. At WHYY, I reported and produced on the field, interviewed in-studio, wrote scripts and recorded VOSOT for broadcast programming heard around the Philadelphia region. In 2024, I was part of the WHYY News team who earned a regional Murrow for coverage of Philadelphia’s historic, 100th mayoral election.

WRITING/EDITING

I primarily write long-form, explanatory and accountability/solutions-focused articles. I am also adept at script-writing and copy editing different content, from long-form, investigative pieces to newsletters. During production of the Filter Podcast, I directed, hosted and wrote scripts and sound design notes. My reporting focused on health, culture, housing and houselessness, and education.

Flatland

I wrote scripts and recorded VOs, produced and reported for Flatland KC, Kansas City PBS’ digital magazine and current affairs TV program. I’m a five-time EMMY award nominee. In 2022, I was awarded an EMMY for reporting and producing contributions in the mini-documentary and roundtable discussion, “Houseless in Kansas City.”

Community-engaged journalism

In 2018, Kansas City PBS hired me to manage and produce their journalism civic engagement series “curiousKC,” powered by Hearken. As project lead, I led engagement strategy, editorial management and reporting efforts and have married public engagement efforts with how journalists source the current affairs monthly program. I continued that work for WHYY News’ Bridging Blocks program.
